The Verve Partnership, established leaders in providing interior architectural design services, recently completed the new headquarters for the 50,000SF Howard County Economic Development Association’s (HCEDA) Maryland Innovation Center (MIC). The goal of the MIC is to provide private sector companies the opportunity to solve complex problems with a “vertical stack” of Economic Development.

The MIC is the result of a key element of a strategic plan created by the HCEDA to unleash the power of innovation. As part of county and state-wide initiatives to develop technology, cyber and innovation communities in the Baltimore-Washington corridor, the MIC is designed to grow the business base in Howard County, however is accessible to those in either the Baltimore or Washington, D.C., regions, bringing together business and technology leaders for resource sharing, funding support, training and mentoring.

“The design of the interior ecosystem is based on communitity and connections and includes varying spaces to meet such as open and closed huddle rooms, conference/board rooms and a state of the art event space for when the effects of COVID19 are somewhat behind us.” states Kelly Ennis, Founder/Principal of The Verve Partnership. “The MIC has begun developing partnerships with tech councils, chambers and industry associations throughout the region, such as the Maryland Tech Council, TEDCO, StartUp Grind and Startup Maryland, in an effort to break down Maryland’s silos and work towards a collaborative ecosystem so that Maryland can compete for business regionally and nationally”, she further explains.

Additionally, the Center aims to be a resource and home to innovators from around the region and beyond, leveraging strategic assets and partners, further establishing the county as a hub for innovation.
