Susan G. Komen, Tacori, Smyth Jewelers Launch Jewelry Line For Breast Cancer Awareness

10/4/20

Susan G. Komen Maryland has partnered with Tacori and Smyth Jewelers to launch “Shining Strength,” a jewelry line in recognition of breast cancer awareness.

The exclusive jewelry line is designed by Tacori, a Los Angeles-based designer jewelry company, and will be sold by Smyth Jewelers, the largest jewelry store in Maryland.

For each piece sold, 25 percent of proceeds will be donated to Komen Maryland. The proceeds will be used to help diagnosed breast cancer patients and survivors get the critical care and resources they need.

“We are thrilled to have designed a jewelry line that supports the breast cancer community and promotes breast cancer awareness,” said Paul Tacorian, Tacori CEO. “We are honored to collaborate with Susan G. Komen Maryland to champion the important work they do for the women and men battling breast cancer.”

The jewelry line launches Thursday, October 1, in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the monthlong campaign which takes place in October and increases awareness of the disease.

“Every purchase from this collection helps fund the lifesaving breast cancer research and services Komen provides for so many people living with breast cancer,” said Smyth Jeweler’s President Tom Smyth. “Almost everyone has a connection with breast cancer, which is why we are delighted to bring this beautiful collection to our stores and share it with our customers.”

The jewelry line includes necklaces, bracelets, pins and more. Each piece in the collection will be made of sterling silver with a pink sapphire, representing the iconic Breast Cancer Awareness color. Customers will have the option to upgrade their pieces to white, yellow, rose gold and platinum.

“At Komen, we work to provide resources, treatment and support to those diagnosed with and being treated for breast cancer,” said Michael Jessup, Komen Maryland’s Executive Director. “This jewelry line provides a physical reminder to breast cancer survivors and those living with breast cancer of their strength, beauty, and resilience.”
