The Year of the Rat is here and MGM National Harbor will celebrate with a holiday menu, Lion Dance and more.

WHAT: From Jan. 22- Feb. 16, MGM National Harbor will pay special homage to Lunar

New Year and The Year of the Rat with exciting celebrations and culinary experiences for guests to enjoy across the resort. Activations on property include:

Lion Dance – On January 26, an interactive and traditional Lion Dance will begin at 4 p.m. at the casino valet entrance. Guests will have the chance to “feed the lion” with lucky red envelopes during the dance. It is said that the tradition will bring good luck throughout the year.

Ginger, patrons can kick off their Lunar New Year with a holiday-inspired menu from January 22-31. Chinese delicacies will be highlighted such as braised abalone, golden crab and lobster, crispy golden pig feet, Buddha’s Delight with sautéed vegetables and bamboo rafts and more.

‘Year of the Rat’ MCM Merchandise – Luxury leather goods designer MCM has created a line of exclusive MGM National Harbor Year of the Rat merchandise for those looking to pick up a souvenir. Products include wallets, keychains and more and can only be purchased at the resort’s MCM store.

Casino Money Tree – The legend of the Money Tree represents good fortune and has been a customary holiday tradition for centuries with its notable red envelopes. To celebrate the tradition, MGM National Harbor will place a money tree inside the casino on February 16 and offer guests the chance to win an envelope from the prized Money Tree, as well as 50 slot points, 400 tier credits to go towards any kiosk game or between $8 to $88 in free play. If the player selects the chance to pull an envelope off the Money Tree, winnings will range from $18 to $8,888.
