Dr. Sarbari Gupta to Present “Me and My Mobile Device: A New Approach for Strong Multidimensional Authentication”

The (ISC)2 Security Congress 2019 seeks to equip security leaders with the knowledge, tools and expertise needed to protect their organizations. This event, which offers educational and thought leadership sessions, fosters collaboration and networking.

WHAT: Dr. Sarbari Gupta will present “Me and My Mobile Device: A New Approach for Strong Multidimensional Authentication” as part of the conference’s Identity & Access Management track. She will propose a novel concept – the Hyper-Authentication (HyperAuth) framework – as a means to leverage the unique capabilities and features of smart mobile platforms to implement multifactor, context-aware and local (on-device) authentication verification. With HyperAuth, mobile platforms can be transformed into self-contained, privacy-protecting authentication machines that support a variety of authentication and contextual factors. The framework can dramatically improve privacy protection and enhance the user experience by providing rapid, local authentication without the need for unique passwords for each application.

Attendees can expect to come away with an understanding of

  • The limitations of traditional multifactor authentication techniques.
  • A new approach for strong authentication that leverages the unique capabilities and features of smart mobile platforms.
  • The benefits of this new authentication approach, including improved privacy protection and enhanced user experience.
