CBRE announced today that Ron Danko, a real estate industry veteran of more than 25 years, will undertake a new leadership role for CBRE Hotels, assuming overall responsibility for institutional investment sales in the hospitality sector.

Mr. Danko, an Executive Vice President, will work closely with Kevin Mallory, Global Head of CBRE Hotels, in developing and maintaining relationships with institutional owners of hotels, including lodging REITS, global private equity groups, sector funds, financial institutions, major foreign investors, lodging brands, and pension funds.

Mr. Danko will be responsible for leveraging CBRE Hotels’ various lines of business for the benefit of institutional clients, including property sales, debt and structured finance, advisory, valuation and research. He will continue to serve his existing clients.

Based in New York, Mr. Danko’s extensive experience and industry connections will boost CBRE’s efforts to continue expanding its hotels business nationally. Since 2015, he has been involved in more than 200 hotel transactions and close to $4 billion in volume across 28 states.

“Ron is one of the most respected professionals in our hotel business and is experienced across all hospitality property types throughout the country,” said Mr. Mallory. “His critical thinking and extensive expertise will be pivotal in providing leadership coverage on a variety of needs and in helping our team to advance CBRE’s hotel business nationally.”

Since joining CBRE as part of the Insignia/ESG acquisition in 2003, Mr. Danko has focused on representing key clients in the sale of medium to large single assets and portfolios primarily in the select-service hotel segment throughout the U.S. Prior to the acquisition, he was the most senior member of the original Hotel Partners team at ESG, where he helped open the firm's New York office. Earlier in his career, Mr. Danko gained experience in hospitality advisory services as a senior consultant at Pannell Kerr Forster in Washington, DC and Arthur Andersen in Princeton, New Jersey.
