2019 Recipients Set New Record for Annual Program

Since 2014, MileOne Autogroup, the Mid-Atlantic's largest automotive retail group, has supported employees and their families through its NextMile Scholarship program, which grants funding toward enrollment in a university, college and/or trade school. Now, six years later, MileOne has surpassed the $1 million and has provided scholarships to 240 students who want to pursue their educational goals and enhance their careers.

“Education is a clear path to ensuring that those in our MileOne families advance their careers, whether it be in the automotive industry or otherwise,” said Steven B. Fader, CEO for MileOne. “When we launched this program six years ago, we had aspirations that it would be well received, and the results have proven that.”

Today, MileOne announced the 39 recipients for 2019 -- 38 students from Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania and one from Michigan. Sixty additional students who were awarded scholarships in previous years will also receive additional scholarships to continue their education.

The 39 new scholarship recipients for the 2019-2020 academic year will attend institutions such as Anne Arundel Community College, Catonsville Community College, Champlain College, College of the Albermarie, DePaul University, Frederick Community College, Harford Community College, Howard Community College, James Madison University, King’s College, Luzerne County Community College, Millersville University of Pennsylvania, Misericordia University, Mount St. Mary’s University, Old Dominion University, Regent University, Savannah College of Art and Design, Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania, Thomas Nelson Community College, Tidewater Community College, Towson University, University of Georgia, University of Maryland Baltimore County, University of Maryland College Park, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, University of Minnesota Crookston, West Virginia University and Wilkes University.
