Seasoned employment lawyer covers everyday issues for workers

Employment law attorney Tom Spiggle, whose firm focuses on discrimination due to pregnancy and other family care issues in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia, has landed a regular column on Forbes.com writing about issues relating to employee rights in the workplace.

“Too many workers first think about their rights in the workplace after they’ve been violated,” said Spiggle. “My hope is that by regularly bringing attention to these issues, I might help someone realize how to protect themselves before something bad happens.”

The column joins Spiggle’s other efforts to educate the public on employment law issues. That includes a blog on employee rights in the workplace on the Spiggle Law Firm’s website; guest editorials in publications such as TIME, Quartz and the HuffPost; and regular contributions on other sites such and LinkedIn.

Aside from the columns and social media posts, the Spiggle Law Firm also offers concise ebooks on topics such as employment law for women and federal workers, a seven-step DIY Legal Leverage online course and a regular Parents at Work podcast featuring Spiggle and guests with expertise on workplace issues. Spiggle is also the author of  “You’re Pregnant, You’re Fired: Protecting Mothers, Fathers, and Other Caregivers in the Workplace,” about pregnancy discrimination, available on Amazon.
