Eric Schwartz Elected Treasurer of Copyright Society of the U.S.A.
WASHINGTON, June 15 -- Eric Schwartz, a partner in Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP's Washington office, was elected Treasurer of the Copyright Society of the U.S.A. at its annual meeting.
Mr. Schwartz has counseled clients on domestic and international copyright law and policy for over 20 years, serving as an expert witness, preparing appellate briefs, providing general litigation strategy counseling, and advising on Copyright Office practices. He has also testified before Congress and relevant federal agencies, counseled on new technological rights and management matters, and advised on all manner of IP commercial transactions.
The Society is a center of the U.S. copyright community for business people, lawyers in private practice and in-house, law professors and law students who share a common interest in copyright and related intellectual property rights. A not-for-profit corporation founded in 1953, the Society works to advance the study and understanding of copyright law and related rights, the scope of rights in literature, music, art, theater, motion picture, television, computer software, architecture, and other works of authorship, and their distribution via both traditional and new media.
