Zoomdata Raises $1.1 Million Seed Funding
Zoomdata, a Reston-based developer of a big data visualization app, said on Tuesday it has landed $1.1 million in new seed funding from a group of angel and institutional investors. Participants included Hemang Gadhia, the founder and former CEO of Condaptive, and the Center for Innovative Technology (CIT). The 12-person company said it will use the proceeds to bolster its engineering staff. Zoomdata said its technology allows users to analyze multiple sources of data and share their visualizations with others. Founder and CEO Justin Langseth said the app "turns real-time big data streams into three-dimensional tactile data art." The company's app is currently deployed in beta with several customers.
