July home prices saw their biggest nationwide year-over-year increase since August 2006, according to a report from CoreLogic, which provides data and analytics to the financial services and real estate industries.

CoreLogic’s July Home Price Index (HPI) showed prices were up 3.8 percent year-over-year and 1.3 percent on a month-over-month basis, according to dsnews.com. CoreLogic's data includes distressed sales.

DSNews also reports that July was the fifth consecutive month that home prices have increased on both a monthly and yearly basis.
