Pillsbury Law Firm Pre-Leases 105,000 SF in Akridge's Trophy Project
The law firm of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman and Akridge have put the finishing touches to a 105,000-square-foot lease for the under-construction 1200 Seventeenth St. NW in Washington's Central Business District.
Lois Zambo, David Lipson, and Tyler Bensten of Studley's Washington office represented Pillsbury while Greg Tomasso and Ben Meisel of Akridge represented the landlord.
The international firm will relocate in January 2015 from 2300 N St. NW. The talks with Akridge have been underway since September 2012.
Akridge's trophy, totaling 168,000 square feet, will sit in DC's Golden Triangle neighborhood. The DC-based developer's partner in the project is Mitsui Fudosan America. The Pillsbury lease was signed just as the developers finished scraping the site to make way for the new building.
"After a very thorough search across the city, we are confident in our decision to make 1200 Seventeenth Street our new home," said Christine Nicolaides Kearns, managing partner in the DC office. "The building's central location, highly efficient design, sustainability and aesthetics make this a very attractive choice for our firm and for our clients."
The project is 63 percent pre-leased. Four floors of the LEED Platinum-designed building are still available.
