James Pitts, corporate vice president and president of Electronic Systems at Northrop Grumman Inc. (NYSE: NOC), sold shares for $1.31 million, according to an SEC filing.
Pitts, a 39-year veteran at the Falls Church-based defense contractor, sold 19,000 shares at $69.12 apiece in an open market transaction. He still owns 2,829 shares worth $197,323, based on the stock?s closing price of $69.75 per share on Aug. 20.
In his current role, Pitts oversees business operations in areas such as defense electronics, airspace management systems and navigation systems. He also serves on the company?s corporate policy council.
Pitts earned a bachelor?s degree in engineering science and a master?s degree in electrical engineering from Johns Hopkins University. He also attended the Executive Forum at INSEAD business school in Fontainebleau, France, and the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University.
