GSA to Host FBI HQ Industry Day
The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) will host an industry day on Thursday, January 17, giving potential responders an overview of the FBI Headquarters project.
Last month, GSA issued a Request for Information (RFI) seeking ideas from the commercial real estate community and other interested parties on options for developing a new, consolidated FBI Headquarters.
Responses to the RFI will assist GSA in exploring redevelopment possibilities to exchange the current outdated and overcrowded J. Edgar Hoover Building, a 2.4 million square foot facility, located on Pennsylvania Avenue, NW in Washington, D.C., for the construction of a new state-of-the-art FBI headquarters.
Completed in 1974, the J. Edgar Hoover Building is positioned in a prime location steps from the White House. The building sits on 6.7 acres of land and is zoned for office, retail, housing, mixed-use and public buildings.
The full National Capital Region, which includes the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia, is under consideration for the potential new headquarters.
The RFI is posted on FedBizOpps.Gov.
The FBI Headquarters Industry Day will be held at 1 p.m. on January 17 at the GSA Regional Office Building Auditorium, which is located at 301 7th Street NW, Washington, DC. There is no charge to attend this event, but attendees must email name(s) and contact information to email@example.com to pre-register.
