Tasea Investment And The Auger Family Break Through Crowded D.C. Market With One-Of-A-Kind Legacy West End Luxury Apartments

4/3/18

An ultra-modern luxury community, Legacy West offers 192 units, 5 carriage homes, top-of-the-line amenities, all within walking distance of world-class retail, entertainment and restaurants.

Tasea Investment Company and the Auger Family announced today the grand opening of the Legacy West End, an ultra-modern luxury apartment community perfectly situated at the nexus of Foggy Bottom, Dupont Circle and Georgetown.

Located at 1255 22nd Street, N.W., Legacy West End features 192 apartments (a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom units), as well as something rare for the District: five two-story carriage homes with spacious floor plans, sweeping staircases, and 14-foot-high ceilings. Three of the carriage homes have private garages and two offer carports.

The building is sheathed in a stunning combination of glass and terra cotta, a one-of-a-kind design element that truly stands out from the street level and admits voluminous amounts of natural light into the units.

“Terra cotta is found on the most prestigious properties in the city,” said Roddi Krivanek, Director of Development for Tasea. “It is timeless material expressing a fully modern building with enduring quality. There is steel and glass and the terra cotta gives it a strong, clean and contemporary feel. Every detail was considered in this project. Considerable thought went into everything, including the team, which was carefully and thoughtfully selected.”

Ownership tapped acclaimed architect Michael T. Foster, FAIA, principal and owner of MTFA Architecture of Arlington, Va., to design Legacy West End with the objective of creating an apartment community that would be nothing short of spectacular.

“Legacy is designed to further distinguish its strategic location,” Foster said. “It is ideally suited to be walkable to shops, restaurants, parks, office and transit. It is designed to engage the street life capturing the vibrancy of urban life. You are at once in the epicenter of all the city has to offer.”

In addition to its location and unique exterior skin, Legacy West End boasts a rooftop deck highlighted by two swimming pools connected by a waterfall, a fire pit and grills, as well as a panoramic view of the city and the Washington National Cathedral.

Interior amenities include expansive kitchen islands, quartz countertops, a 24-hour fitness center, a pet spa, a club lounge with multiple TVs, a pool table and table shuffleboard. The apartments are spacious with nine-foot ceilings, sliding glass barn doors to bedrooms that offer plenty of light, floor to ceiling windows, and balconies that are designed to extend living space to the outdoors. The building has all new interiors, HVAC and electrical systems, plumbing and elevators.

“There is no other building like it in the District of Columbia,” Foster said. “It is a brand-new modern building from inside to out. It has all of the amenities. It was designed to be timeless and promote a high quality of life.”

Better yet, Legacy West End is in the thick of the action and has received a Walk Score of 97. Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods are just blocks away, as are many restaurants, cafes and bars. It is equidistant from two Metro stations — Dupont Circle Metro Station and Foggy Bottom-GWU Metro Station — and is on the Orange, Blue and Red lines. It is also next door to George Washington University’s campus and minutes away from Georgetown and its stunning waterfront.

The apartment community is already taking its first tenants and is ideally suited for World Bank employees, embassy officials, medical and law students, and empty nesters.

In addition to architect Foster, the investment group also teamed up with Rockville, Md.-based Hartman Design Group, interior design, and HITT Contracting, Falls Church, Va. EagleBank of Bethesda, Md., Old Line Bank of Bowie, Md., and Chevy Chase, Md.-based FCP provided construction financing.

Legacy West End is managed by KETTLER, one of greater Washington, D.C.’s leading real estate development and property management companies.
