Divaris Real Estate, Inc. (DRE) announces that its Investment Sales Group brokered the sale of the Virginia Eye Consultants headquarters building to Montecito Medical Real Estate for an undisclosed price. DRE’s Alex Divaris, CCIM, Jason Oliver, CCIM and Vivian Turok represented the seller,Virginia Eye Development, LLC, in the sale-leaseback transaction.
The property consists of a 34,177-square-foot, Class A medical office building located at 241 Corporate Boulevard in Norfolk, VA. The building is fully leased to Virginia Eye Consultants, the region’s largest and highest volume, multi-subspecialty ophthalmic practice.
“The building houses six unique laser systems; two certified major and five minor operating rooms; a fully certified clinical research staff running dozens of clinical trials every year; 42 examination lanes; 145 computer terminals; 78-terrabyte, 18-server datacenter storage; 17 highly qualified providers and over 200 employees,” said John Sheppard, MD, MMSc, FACS, president of Virginia Eye Consultants.
“After opening day, we struggled with facility self-management before finding Divaris, with whom we have enjoyed four years of peace, cost savings and solid business growth. When the time finally came to sell our facility, we asked Divaris to find the right match, and they hit a home run for us with Montecito.
