Operating 24 hours a day, Will Nolley anticipates expansion from “coast to coast”

Salontra Select Suites has signed a lease with David S. Brown Enterprises, Ltd. for 11,341 square feet of space within Metro Centre at Owings Mills, a Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) located in the Owings Mills section of Baltimore County. This represents the fourth location for owner Will Nolley, who is making plans to open several additional locations locally, as well as taking the concept coast-to-coast. The hair salon, which operates 24 hours a day and services both women and men, is expected to open this summer on the ground level floor of the TOD’s four-story, 200,000 square foot Class “A” mixed-use office and retail building on Grand Central Avenue.

“We attract and retain the most talented hair stylists because of the creative and high-value amenities and services we consistently offer,” explained Will Nolley, Founder/CEO and President of Salontra Select Suites, who started the hair salon in 2007. “This includes on-site concierge, maintenance and security services that respond immediately to the needs of the stylists, a coffee bar in the common area and the ability to purchase equity in our concept. If a problem arises for the hair stylist, such as the sink getting clogged, a service worker would address the situation in approximately three minutes.”

Salontra Select Suites presently operates locations in Catonsville, Bowie and Laurel, with additional sites coming to White Marsh and Waldorf.

“We are attracted to high-growth locations and, in addition to the unique mixed-use environment offered by Metro Centre at Owings Mills, residential units are contained on-site and there are many more on the way, which presents us with a built-in audience,” Nolley added. “Stylists and customers can take the metro to visit the salon and it is centrally-located near many high density communities and businesspeople. We also love the energy that always exists at the project.”

Salontra Select Suites offers hair-cutting, hair extensions and highlighting, conditioning treatments to combat hair loss, facial and skin treatments and waxing, massage therapy, manicures and pedicures and make-up services. Stylists also have the opportunity to take advantage of a business mentoring program and to purchase equity in a location. “This enables our stylists the chance to earn income without standing behind a chair,” Nolley said.

Last fall, Metro Centre at Owings Mills announced the completion of four new leases at the Transit-Oriented Development including World of Beer, Club Pilates, Metro Wine and Spirits and Hammer & Nails. Other tenants now open are Eggspectation, Times Square Kitchen, Fractured Prune and Subway. Metro Centre at Owings Mills is being developed by Owings Mills Transit, LLC and is managed by David S. Brown Enterprises, Ltd.

“We are extremely impressed with the Salontra Select Suites management team and the concept itself and believe it will quickly build a tremendous consumer following at Metro Centre,” stated Ken Bernstein, who negotiated the lease on behalf of David S. Brown Enterprises.

More than 140,000 vehicles pass Metro Centre each day from Interstate 795 and 5,000 commuters board the Owings Mills Metro Stop each workday. More than 30,000 consumers utilize the library and community college per month. The downtown business district and Baltimore City amenities, such as M&T Bank Stadium and Oriole Park Camden Yards can be accessed in approximately 17 minutes from the project.
