The Interstate 95 Express Lanes will be extended an additional 10 miles toward Fredericksburg, Gov. Terry McAuliffe said Wednesday.
The project, with private partners at Transurban, will add express lanes from the existing southern terminus just south of Garrisonville Road to U.S. 17 North.
There will be new Express Lane access points in the area of Russell Road near Quantico and at Courthouse Road, along with the terminus near the Rappahannock River.
Construction is expected to begin in spring 2019, with the roadway slated to open in the fall of 2022.
