A program designed to help local entrepreneurs be successful will be split in two this year, to try and better serve participants by customizing assistance they need.

“Startup Martinsville-Henry County, Virginia,” as the program has been called since it was launched two years ago, will focus this year on helping people bring to fruition ideas for new businesses. Classes will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Thursdays from Feb. 8 through April 5.

The new program, “Grow Martinsville-Henry County, Virginia,” will be held during the same hours on Tuesdays from Feb. 27 to March 20. It will be designed to help people who already have established businesses take their ventures to the next level, such as by expanding product lines and/or buying and installing new equipment that will enable them to add jobs, according to Martinsville-Henry County Chamber of Commerce President Lisa Fultz.
