Virginia’s lawmakers will convene next week, but it’s not yet known whether anyone will be in attendance to represent Newport News’ 94th District.
The House of Delegates race that has seen two apparent results in the past two weeks will be decided on Thursday — maybe. The General Assembly begins Jan. 10.
Unless a court intervenes, the State Board of Elections will hold a random draw at 11 a.m. Thursday in Richmond to determine the winner of the tied race between Del. David Yancey and Shelly Simonds, Yancey’s Democratic opponent and Newport News School Board member.
