Thomas I. Barkin, a senior executive at the global consulting firm McKinsey & Co., will be the next president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, the bank announced Monday.
Barkin becomes the Richmond Fed’s eighth president and CEO when he takes the position effective Jan. 1.
“We are fortunate to have found an extremely well-qualified individual to serve the Federal Reserve’s Fifth District and the American people,” Margaret Lewis, chair of the Richmond Fed’s search committee and its board of directors, said in a statement.
