A Denver-based mobile health care company has landed in Richmond through a partnership with Bon Secours Richmond Health System.
Officially launched Tuesday in Richmond, DispatchHealth sends a medical team, including nurse practitioners and physician assistants, to a patient’s home once summoned through an app, website or phone call.
The company came to the area at the behest of Bon Secours. So far it has one car active in Richmond — which is co-branded with DispatchHealth and Bon Secours logos — and another ready to go in case the need grows.
“Our industry is changing, innovation is happening with technology, we’re thinking about the world differently, and quite frankly the baby boomers are demanding things differently,” said Toni Ardabell, CEO of Bon Secours Virginia Health System and Bon Secours Richmond Health System during a press conference to announce the partnership Thursday.
