The pomp and circumstance of playing at Notre Dame does not intimidate the Navy football team.
In fact, the Midshipmen (6-3) embrace the challenge and have beaten the Irish five times in the past eight matchups. While Navy faces a tougher Notre Dame team this season, recent history has shown this could be another nail-biter.
"We have a huge challenge coming up in Notre Dame, which is year in and year out one of the best programs in the country," Navy head coach Ken Niumatalolo said this week. "We know them very well. We play them every year. So we know how good they are, how well-coached they are. It's going to be a tough challenge, but we're looking forward to it."
