New Enterprise Associates announced the promotion of Aaron Jacobson to partner. And the firm added Dr. Kavita Patel as a venture partner on its healthcare team. Jacobson is an early-stage tech investor based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He joined the firm in 2011 as a principal and focuses on SaaS applications, big data platforms and cloud infrastructure.

Patel is a physician and healthcare policy expert based in the Washington, D.C. In addition to her role at NEA, she is a practicing physician at Johns Hopkins Medicine. She previously served in the Obama Administration, playing a key role in design of healthcare reform legislation.
