The International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) has named Thomas Wojno to a newly created position as senior vice president of innovation and member advancement. In this role, Wojno will be responsible for identifying and implementing innovative strategies to enhance IDFA services, expand its diverse membership and develop new opportunities for growth.
"Tom joins the IDFA team at a time when our industry is going through dynamic change," said Michael Dykes, D.V.M., IDFA president and CEO. "Tom's demonstrated leadership and proven results will help ensure that IDFA will achieve its strategic vision of a strong, leading-edge organization that is positioned for the future."
Prior to joining IDFA, Wojno served as vice president of member value and strategy for the National Restaurant Association. While at the NRA, Wojno built a data-driven membership organization focused on member experience and sales development. Wojno also transformed the association's member business model, creating a seamless "Join One, Join All" approach to membership, leveraging the NRA's network of 50 state affiliates to serve and support the entire industry. Under his leadership, NRA's grew new membership 300 percent and increased retention from 83 to 94 percent – a high watermark for the association.
Wojno also served as vice president of resource development for America's Promise, an alliance organization founded by General Colin Powell to support better outcomes in education, and held leadership roles within multiple initiatives at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Wojno began his career in business development at Bloomberg LP.
Wojno received a bachelor's degree in business and organizational communication from Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut. Wojno was the recipient of the 2016 Association Innovators awards, given by DC Live to leaders driving growth and change in their respective associations and industries. Wojno resides in Bethesda, Maryland with his wife, Liz and son, Nick.

The International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA), Washington, D.C., represents the nation's dairy manufacturing and marketing industries and their suppliers with a membership of nearly 525 companies within a $125-billion a year industry. IDFA is composed of three constituent organizations: the Milk Industry Foundation (MIF), the National Cheese Institute (NCI) and the International Ice Cream Association (IICA). IDFA's nearly 200 dairy processing members operate more than 600 plant operations and range from large multi-national organizations to single-plant companies. Together they represent more than 85 percent of the milk, cultured products, cheese, ice cream and frozen desserts produced and marketed in the United States.
