CoreNet Global Mid-Atlantic Chapter member Stephen C. Dunn has been named the Corporate Real Estate (CRE) Executive of the year. As Director of Workplace at CSRA, Inc., Dunn was recognized during a Global Awards & Recognition Dinner held in conjunction with the Global Summit in Seattle for outstanding and distinguished achievements that built success for his company and helped elevate the practice of corporate real estate.

“Steve is a strategic thinker whose creative, collaborative approach not only delivers results for his company, but also for our Chapter community. He has been among our most fervent advocates for the value of CoreNet membership, educational and networking opportunities. Dunn, who is also the recipient of the 2017 CoreNet Global Mid-Atlantic Chapter Pinnacle CRE Leadership Award, was a key player in the CSRA merger that brought together 19,000 employees in 143 facilities spanning 3.7 million rentable square feet.

Dunn’s achievements include negotiating a contract for Real Estate and Facilities Management services that resulted in $1.5 million in annual savings; consolidating more than 100 facility service vendors under a single contract; and instituting CSRA quality management systems. Dunn’s efforts to right-size CSRA’s portfolio resulted in closure of 15 percent (35) of facilities and savings of $19.7 million, which benefited shareholders and allowed for reinvestment opportunities.

Emblematic of his company’s imperative to “Think Next. Now,” he was instrumental in the development of an integrated technology center in Bossier City, Louisiana, in which state and city partnerships leveraged economic development incentives to create more than 800 jobs. He created a thriving Workplace team that is integrated into every aspect of corporate decision-making. And his leadership in right-sizing the CSRA portfolio and developing strong communications within the company’s lines of business have made him an indispensable member of CSRA’s top management team.
