400-Home Kline Property Development Gets Public Hearing Date

After a brief delay, Prince William County planners are set to consider plans to build 400 new homes and several shops on a former farm at a bustling intersection near Manassas.

The county’s planning commission has issued public notices announcing plans to hold a public hearing Nov. 15 on a series of permits for the planned development on the 100-acre property at the intersection of the Prince William Parkway and Liberia Avenue.

Northern Virginia developer Stanley Martin Homes has been hoping to buy the property and undertake the massive redevelopment for roughly two years, and originally planned to bring the project before the commission in early October. But neighbors and other community members have become increasingly concerned about the plans for the property, currently owned by the Kline family, as the development could bring more drivers to nearby Va. 28 and more students to crowded county schools.
