DLA Piper announced today that Jason Whiteley has joined the firm’s Corporate practice as a partner. Whiteley will be based in the firm’s Houston and Washington, DC offices.
Whiteley counsels private equity firms and companies on private equity and M&A matters in such industries as energy, technology, manufacturing and distribution. He has extensive experience in the energy sector, including transactions involving oil and gas exploration and production as well as electric utilities and independent power producers.
“Jason further bolsters our team’s ability to provide clients with sophisticated counsel in private equity and M&A matters,” said John Gilluly, DLA Piper's US chair of the Corporate practice. “His training in international affairs and his experience in the US and Europe complement nicely our global capabilities and will deliver value to our clients domestically and internationally.”

Since January, DLA Piper’s Corporate practice also has welcomed partners Gislar Donnenberg (Houston), Danish Hamid (Washington, DC), Jeff Salinger (New York), Paul Wassgren (Los Angeles), Jeff Legault (New York) and Michael Brown (San Diego).
Whiteley received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, his M.S. from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and his B.S. from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
