Colleen Mason is a returning environmental compliance professional in the Herndon, Virginia office of WSP USA, formerly WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, a leading engineering and professional services consultancy.

In her new role for the water & environment practice, Ms. Mason will be supporting the environmental compliance team and assisting the local area managers with project delivery and the pursuit of new business development opportunities. Ms. Mason will also conduct Phase I environmental site assessments of industrial and commercial facilities, identify and quantify environmental risks and coordinate appropriate client responses, and evaluate industrial and commercial facilities for compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations Additionally, she will assist clients with preparation and implementation of environmental programs, procedures, and management systems to ensure compliance and to drive continual improvement.

Prior to joining WSP, Ms. Mason was an environmental scientist at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). She served at the EPA since 2007, implementing programs under the Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act. Her most recent responsibilities included managing the field sampling season for the National Aquatic Resource Surveys (NARS), which assess the condition of the nation's coastal waters, lakes, rivers, streams, and wetlands. From 2005 to 2007 Ms. Mason was an environmental consultant at WSP in Reston, Virginia, conducting Phase I environmental assessments and remedial investigations.

Ms. Mason received a bachelor of science in environmental science with a concentration in aquatic resources from Dickinson College.
