SOVAH Health will lay off more than 150 employees - including 91 at its Danville location – in November.
Marketing Director Liz Harris said the 158 employees affected will be guaranteed, at their choosing, either employment with a new contractor – HHS in Austin, Texas - that will employ the positions being eliminated from SOVAH Health, or a severance package.
The departments to be impacted are environmental services as well as food and nutrition services in Danville, and environmental services, food and nutrition services, and linen utilization services in Martinsville.
SOVAH Health’s current contract with Sodexo, which manages employees in the company’s housecleaning and food and nutrition departments in Danville and Martinsville, as well as those in the laundry department Martinsville, expires in November.
