Kettler Annual Fundraiser Collects More Than $20,000 For Bethany House To Aid Victims Of Domestic Violence

8/31/17

KETTLER, one of Washington, D.C.’s leading real estate development and property management companies, announced it has raised more than $20,000 for Bethany House of Northern Virginia, a nonprofit organization that provides housing and assistance for victims of domestic violence.

Each summer, KETTLER conducts a fundraiser for a charitable organization of its choice. Bethany House was selected this year because its mission aligns with KETTLER’S core value of building community. It also underscores the company’s commitment of improving the broader community where its employees live and work.

The KETTLER team doubled its original goal by raising $20,550 hosting creative fundraising initiatives such as a carnival and barbecue, burrito sale, a cocktail party, and raffles. All of KETTLER’s roughly 1,000 employees across its properties participated in the fundraiser, which ran from May 23 to July 3.

“Each year, I look forward to seeing colleagues join together to support organizations like Bethany House, which is having a positive impact on women and children who are victims of domestic violence,” said Robert C. Kettler, CEO of KETTLER. “Exceeding our goal means we will help Bethany House provide much needed services to women and families trying to break free of the cycle of violence. The KETTLER team should be proud of its efforts and for helping such a valuable organization.”

With KETTLER’s donation, Bethany House will be able to continue providing women and children housing for at least a four-month period, assist them with job coaching to find employment, help with childcare payments, provide gas and metro cards, as well as food and clothing assistance to further support these families.

“We are thrilled and honored KETTLER decided to support our organization,” said Gayan Peart, Executive Director of Bethany House. “The generous donation from the KETTLER team enables us to provide our clients with services that will help restore their dignity, lives and hope. It will help us provide our clients with a fighting chance.”

Bethany House was founded in 1979 in response to the rising number of victims of domestic abuse without sufficient resources of support.
