Maryland sophomore quarterback Tyrrell Pigrome will start the team's season opener at Texas Sept. 2, the Terps revealed in a depth chart released Aug. 28. Freshman quarterback Kasim Hill is listed as Pigrome's backup and sophomore Max Bortenschlager, the third stringer.

Junior quarterback Caleb Henderson, who was doing light workouts on the side with a boot on his injured right ankle/foot during practices open to the media Aug. 18 and Aug. 22, is not listed among the quarterbacks on the depth chart.

Pigrome was expected to be named the starter after he was the only quarterback to work with the first team offense Aug. 22. Hill threw well in camp and drew positive reviews as a leader, but ultimately the more experienced Pigrome, who got into 11 games as a freshman last year, got the nod to start the season.
