Jim Marx started his business in a University of Virginia dorm room almost 30 years ago. It was focused on something nearly every student buys at some point: T-shirts with the college logo.
Since his days of selling collegiate shirts in dorms and around the U.Va. campus in 1989, the Virginia Beach resident has established Broad Bay Cotton Co., which specializes in textile products such as backpacks, aprons, bags, and lunch coolers with college logos, initials or other designs.
The company is licensed to produce and sell a variety of products to at least 60 colleges and universities.
And Marx intends on keeping that list growing with a recent expansion.
