Andy Corno and Thomas Jackman reposition retail opportunities in Washington CBD

JLL today announces the successful retail leasing activity within the firm’s Zuckerman Gravely portfolio in Downtown Washington, D.C. Since taking on the assignment in April 2016, the JLL team, led by Andy Corno and Thomas Jackman, has 100% leased the retail space at Square 85 at 1020 19th Street and 1001 Connecticut Avenue.

“These buildings are in the core of D.C.’s Central Business District – right in the heart of the Golden Triangle. With great foot traffic during the week, these properties are ideal for retailers looking to capture such a hungry audience,” notes Andy Corno, Vice President, JLL Retail Group.

Interest from retailers seeking downtown space shows no signs of slowing, according to a recent JLL Retail Report. “First floor and below-grade office space that historically was occupied by law firms will continue to come back to the market over the short term and be reintroduced as retail space, delivering more options for retailers over the next few years,” says Thomas Jackman, Vice President, JLL Retail Group.
