Verodin Names Robert Potter as Chief Revenue Officer

8/15/17

RESTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Verodin, the leader in measuring security effectiveness and controls assurance, today announced that it appointed former Symantec Vice President of Americas, Robert Potter, as its Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). As CRO, Potter will oversee global sales, partnerships and field operations. The appointment follows Potter’s successful career in senior executive roles at Symantec, RSA, EMC and Lancope.

“Rob has had an exceptional career with proven performance, and we are excited to have him join Verodin,” said Verodin CEO and Co-founder Christopher Key. “His depth of experience in global markets, security technologies, channel development and building go-to-market partnerships made him the clear choice. Verodin customers will benefit from his long history in building customer-focused organizations and helping customers improve their overall security posture.”

Verodin’s groundbreaking Security Implementation Platform (SIP) instruments an enterprise’s entire security infrastructure, continually testing, evaluating and monitoring its effectiveness. By safely executing real attack tactics and techniques, the platform enables organizations to validate security controls and demonstrate cybersecurity effectiveness.

“In my role at Symantec, CISOs identified the number one business challenge for the enterprise as the inability to measure the efficacy of the products in the security stack and the absence of controls assurance,” said Potter. “I believe Verodin SIP will become the most-leveraged capability in any enterprise technology stack. I am excited to join the team and contribute to Verodin’s continued success. I look forward to expanding our channel relationships and leveraging our partners to accelerate our growth globally.”

“Optiv’s partnerships with industry leading and cutting-edge technology providers like Verodin play a critical part in our holistic approach to solving today’s cybersecurity challenges,” said Optiv Executive Vice President of Worldwide Sales Dave Castignola. “Rob Potter has an outstanding reputation and track record in the security industry, and Optiv looks forward to working with him and the Verodin team.”

In his most recent role, Potter was the vice president of Sales and Operations for the Americas at Symantec. Prior to that, he was a member of the executive team at Lancope (acquired by Cisco), RSA (acquired by EMC) and EMC (acquired by Dell). He has been recognized numerous times as a leader in the security industry, testified on key security concerns and regularly speaks on cybersecurity awareness.

“I think very highly of Rob as a leader, and he has exceptional knowledge of the security industry. The ability of Verodin to attract a talented executive like Rob Potter to the team speaks volumes to the need for Verodin’s technology in the marketplace and the potential of the company. Verodin should be on everyone’s radar,” said retired Executive Chairman of RSA and advisor to Verodin Arthur Coviello.
