During a pre-practice Q&A session with Ravens fans at M&T Bank Stadium July 30, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell was asked about the possibility of Baltimore hosting a future Super Bowl.
Goodell mentioned that he grew up a Baltimore Colts fan and said, "I know how great this community is." He then went on to note how competitive landing a Super Bowl has become and the infrastructure needs within a city to host the event ("I think we're well over 35,000 hotel rooms required to get one"). But he then suggested a possibility that Ravens fans likely haven't considered before.
"The bar gets raised every year," Goodell said. "So, someone just raised this with me before I came over here. They mentioned the idea of a joint bid in the Baltimore/Washington area, which is an interesting idea because clearly there's an infrastructure between the two communities."
