International Place at Tysons, a mixed-use rezoning proposal, received swift and keen support July 25 from the Board of Supervisors.

Board members unanimously approved the project, which will feature a concrete-and-steel podium structure with two levels of commercial space interspersed with two parking levels, with four stories of multi-family housing units on top.

“This may not be the biggest case you’ve seen in Tysons, but it’s still a very prominent location on Route 7 and Gallows Road and it really shows the transformation that can be made from a suburban-style automobile dealership to a mixed-use project,” said Elizabeth Baker, an attorney for the applicant, International Place at Tysons LLC.

The building and its associated recreational amenities will be built on 5.4 acres within a block bounded by Route 7, Gallows Road, Boone Boulevard and Howard Avenue. The site is located within a half-mile of the Tysons and Greensboro Metrorail stations.
