iDiscovery Solutions, Inc. (iDS), a global consulting, technology, and expert services firm, announced today they will be sponsoring July’s luncheon for the D.C. Chapter of Women in eDiscovery (WiE). The event, featuring a discussion on Data Privacy and the New GDPR, will be held on July 19 beginning at 11:45am at Foley & Lardner LLP in Georgetown.
As the enactment of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) edges closer, it’s important for attorneys to be prepared to counsel clients prior to enforcement, as well as know what to expect surrounding European Union data afterwards. The GDPR was designed to harmonize data privacy laws across Europe, to protect all EU citizens’ data privacy, and reshape the way organizations across the region approach data privacy. Elle Pyle of RuyakCherian and Colleen Brown of Sidley Austin will lead the discussion.
“We are excited to sponsor this month’s WiE luncheon for the D.C. Chapter,” remarked Cheryl Platt of iDS. “WiE has been a driving force behind the success of so many women throughout the eDiscovery industry. It’s great to be able to support our local chapter.”
WiE provides educational opportunities regarding technology in the legal industry to its members. The organization offers networking and leadership avenues, promotes personal and professional growth of women, and donates mentoring and charitable contributions to its communities.
