EVERFI, Inc. participated in National Summer Learning Day by supporting events across the country aimed at raising awareness for the importance of keeping kids learning, safe and healthy every summer. Many events featured EVERFI and Major League Baseball’s education partnership Summer Slugger, a free baseball-themed educational course aimed at preventing students from losing critical math and literacy skills during the summer months. Events featuring Summer Slugger were held in Bronx, New York; Chicago, Illinois; San Francisco, California; and Dallas, Texas.

EVERFI CEO, Tom Davidson shared, "Students lose a significant amount of their skills over the summer... and you don't have a chance to catch them up down the road... it particularly effects students in high poverty areas. What we have done through Summer Slugger is tie learning to the baseball season like no one has done before."

Last month, MLB officially announced EVERFI as the “Official Education Partner of Major League Baseball” and launched the course at a kickoff event with Chief Baseball Officer and Baseball Hall of Famer Joe Torre.
