Who Is Most Valuable Oriole Of Season's First Half?

At the end of each year, the local media members who cover the Orioles vote on the team's most valuable performer. In recent years, it's usually been an easy vote because the Most Valuable Oriole has had glittering offensive statistics.

With the All-Star team set to be named July 2, which also is the statistical halfway point of the season, the question of who has been the Orioles' most valuable player of a challenging first half of the season is not easily answered.

First baseman Chris Davis, center fielder Adam Jones and third baseman Manny Machado have won five of the past six MVO awards, but none of the three have measured up so far this season. (Designated hitter Nelson Cruz won the 2014 award during his only season with the club).
