Kevin Huerter Feels He's Ready For Bigger Role With Terps

Kevin Huerter's first season as a Maryland Terrapin unofficially started earlier than usual. As a member of the U18 National Team last summer, the forward played under Maryland head coach Mark Turgeon, who was serving as an assistant coach on the team.

Huerter said interaction with Turgeon helped him handle a significant role with the Terps as a freshman, and now he's ready for whatever his coach needs from him heading into his sophomore season.

"He saw a lot of things I needed to work on. I think USA was really the first time he started coaching [me]," Huerter told Glenn Clark Radio June 23. "When I went into the season in the fall, I knew exactly what he wanted from me, and I think that helped me a lot."
