Rob Vaughn Promoted To Head Baseball Coach At Maryland

During the past five years, Rob Vaughn served at the side of John Szefc, who guided the University of Maryland baseball program to its most successful seasons in more than 40 years. Now, Vaughn will be calling the shots.

Following Szefc's departure to become the head coach at Virginia Tech, the 29-year old Vaughn was named Maryland's eighth head baseball coach in the program's history June 22.

Vaughn, who formerly was the Terps' associate head coach and hitting coach, developed many of the hitters who were key contributors to Maryland's recent success.
