Region’s 117 Named One of 100 Best Brunch Spots in America

6/21/17

One of only three Northern Virginia restaurants to make the list.

Region’s 117, Northern Virginia’s hottest new farm-to-table restaurant, was named one of the 100 best brunch restaurants in America this month by Open Table as highlighted recently in Travel & Leisure, the Los Angeles Times and Forbes. Region’s 117 is just one of three Northern Virginia restaurants to make this elite list.

“Brunch is one of the most important meals for any restaurant,” said Executive Chef Scott Bilstad. “Our goal with every meal we serve is to make it something you’d want to share with friends and family, and that is especially important with brunch. It’s an honor to be named to such an elite list of restaurants.”

The annual list is based on an analysis of more than 10 million reviews submitted on the online reservation website by verified diners of more than 24,000 restaurants across the country. This year was the first in which Region’s 117 would have qualified.

Located at Trilogy at Lake Frederick, an exclusive and upscale 55+ active lifestyle resort community, Region’s 117, which is open to the public, has views of picturesque Lake Frederick and the surrounding Shenandoah Valley, including seating on an outdoor veranda.

The restaurant’s wildly popular brunch menu includes twists on such staples as steak and eggs, shrimp and grits, an “untraditional” Eggs Benedict and croissant French toast, all made with locally sourced ingredients, including some grown on site at a special chef’s garden.

“Our mission at Region’s 117 is to serve ‘food you know,’ while keeping the menu fresh and creative,” added Bilstad. “Brunch is the ultimate test because everyone has expectations of what they want to eat. It’s good to know that we’re doing well on such an important meal.”
