ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) proudly announced today that four CTA employees have been recognized for their outstanding service and leadership by a top industry trade publication and highly respected national and local organizations. Allison Fried, director of global communications, and Melissa Matalon, director of member programs, were named to 2017’s Dealerscope 40 Under 40 list; Julie Kearney, vice president of regulatory affairs, was elected president of the Federal Communications Bar Association (FCBA); and Glenda MacMullin, COO and CFO, was elected vice chair of the Crystal City BID Board of Directors’ Executive Committee.

“I’m so pleased that these outstanding institutions have recognized what we at CTA already know: Allison, Glenda, Julie and Melissa are phenomenal leaders and great representatives of CTA and the technology sector overall,” said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, CTA. “Each truly deserves the honor she received. I am thrilled to congratulate Allison and Melissa for being named to Dealerscope’s 40 Under 40, and Julie and Glenda for assuming leadership roles in FCBA and Crystal City BID, respectively.”

Allison Fried and Melissa Matalon were both named to Dealerscope’s 2017 40 Under 40 list. The program honors consumer technology professionals for their years of hard work, innate maturity and determination to live by deep-seated principles.

Fried leads communications efforts for all CTA events, most notably CES® – the world’s largest technology tradeshow; CES Asia – the leading event for the consumer tech industry in China; CES Unveiled Events – hosted in technology hotspots around the world; and, most recently, the association’s inaugural New American Jobs Summit in Washington, DC. At CES 2017, Fried helped in attracting more than 180,000 attendees and was critical in garnering nearly 60,000 CES media hits in January alone. She also was pivotal in launching CES Asia in 2015, expanding CES Unveiled to 10 cities and establishing CES Media Days as the exclusive media event to give exhibitors the chance to break news before the buzz of the show. Julie Kearney successfully leads CTA’s regulatory activities before the FCC, FTC, FDA and other government agencies. Glenda MacMullin, elected as Chairman of the Crystal City BID Board of Directors, joined CTA in 2004 as the CFO, and over the last 12 years has led successful efforts to increase revenue and membership for the association. Now serving a dual-role with CTA as COO and CFO, MacMullin is involved in all aspects of the association, from providing strategic financial leadership to developing overall business strategy and translating business plans into department operational plans, programs, goals and policies. Additionally, MacMullin has created a deeper partnership between CTA and the Northern Virginia Technology Council, expanding the U.S. Tech Vets program to help veterans tap into technology sector jobs.
