Cynthia Villatoro, who plays three sports at Cardozo High School, has been named the District of Columbia State Athletic Association U.S. Army Impact Player of the Month.
Villatoro, a junior, plays soccer, bowling and flag football for the Clerks. She's also active in Cardozo's community.
"Cynthia is always quick to volunteer to help faculty or students and was one of the main members of the Cardozo Ambassadors, which is a service group within the school," Cardozo athletic director Jim Leatherman wrote in an email. "She was one of two students in our athletic department designated to serve as a liaison between Cardozo and the DCIAA, which is the DCPS interscholastic athletic conference for public schools."
