Ingleside at Rock Creek Names Kyle Johnson as Executive Chef

New Chef Boasts Work Experience as Sous Chef at the Wolfgang Puck American Grille

Ingleside at Rock Creek(IRC) announced that Kyle Johnson, PCII has been hired as the new executive chef. A CARF-accredited continuing care retirement community located in Northwest Washington, D.C., Ingleside at Rock Creek is one of the three not-for-profit communities operated byIngleside.

Johnson comes to Ingleside at Rock Creek with 13 years of experience working as a sous chef, executive chef, and cook. His expertise is in menu development, using seasonal and local products. His menus have received awards and accreditation for sustainably. He previously worked at American University, where the dining program was awarded a Green Restaurant Certification, and Wolfgang Puck American Grille, a restaurant whose menu is known for food that combines French and Asian styles of cooking.

“Here at Ingleside at Rock Creek, we believe that to live well, we need to eat well,” said Catherine Scott, executive director of Ingleside at Rock Creek. “Kyle brings extraordinary talent to the table and we are thrilled to welcome his culinary gifts to our community.”

In addition to his work experience, Johnson has won various cooking competitions such as the New Jersey State Culinary Competition and the American Culinary Federation’s Hot Foods and Centerpiece competitions. He is also a member of the American Culinary Federation, an organization that aims to improve the professional development of chefs around the globe.

Johnson studied culinary arts at the Academy of Culinary Arts where he graduated with Honors from Phi Theta Kappa. He then completed his culinary studies at the Local 54 Apprenticeship Program, where he received a Certificate of Excellence.
