Town of Leesburg Economic Development Director Marantha Edwards will retire in January 2018 after 17 years working for the town.
Edwards was hired by the town in September 2000 for the newly-created position of tourism coordinator, according to town officials. She held a variety of titles during her tenure, including tourism and marketing manager, business development manager and economic development manager. She was promoted to her current position in September 2012.
In 2006, Edwards achieved the prestigious Certified Main Street Manager (CMSM) designation through the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
