Resa Kierstein

SCORE, the nation's largest network of volunteer, expert business mentors, has appointed longtime employee Resa Kierstein to the role of Vice President of Development at SCORE. In her new role, Kierstein will lead all business operations for The SCORE Foundation, including strategic planning, budget management, corporate relations and special events planning.

Kierstein brings more than 15 years of fundraising and development experience to the position, including six years at SCORE. Most recently, she served as interim president of The SCORE Foundation. In this position, she exceeded the organization's financial goals by $2 million and grew year-over-year revenue by $1 million.

"With more than 15 years of development experience, I know that I am only as successful as the people around me, and I work very hard to build and nurture the very best-in-class fundraising teams," said Kierstein.

Having grown up the daughter of entrepreneurs, Kierstein's development skills are augmented by a lifelong passion for helping small businesses to start and grow.

"Resa's strong management capabilities, outstanding interpersonal communication skills, and high personal and ethical standards made her the best choice for this position," said SCORE CEO Ken Yancey. "She is an exceptional fundraising professional, an excellent leader and an inspiration to her team and to the entire organization."

Kierstein, a graduate of Kent State University, lives in northern Virginia with her husband Ted Childs, and their two children.
