5/11/17

Leidos (NYSE: LDOS), a global science and technology company, announced that Rear Admiral Nevin Carr, Leidos vice president and U.S. Navy strategic account executive, was recently appointed to the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) Board of Directors. Carr is currently responsible for identifying and executing strategic initiatives to achieve Navy customer mission success and for growing the company's naval and maritime business. In this role, he helps Leidos technology answer critical customer challenges, including using naval autonomous and unmanned systems to increase U.S. Navy combat power, reduce risk, and keep sailors out of harm's way.

Carr retired from the U.S. Navy in 2012 following a 34-year career that included command of destroyer USS Arleigh Burke and cruiser USS Cape St. George. As deputy director of Surface Warfare for Combat Systems, he was responsible for requirements governing all surface Navy combat systems, weapons, sensors, and data links. As Chief of Naval Research, he spearheaded the Navy's $2 billion investment in science and technology.

"Nevin's proven track record of driving growth and cultivating innovation make him a natural fit for the AUVSI board," said Leidos Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Roger Krone. "His experience and expertise will ensure that unmanned technology continues to augment and assist our armed forces with their critical missions."

AUVSI is the world's largest nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of unmanned systems and robotics. It represents more than 7,500 members from more than 60 countries who are involved in the fields of government, industry and academia.
