Local Teams Look Ahead To NCAA Tournament

The Loyola Greyhounds became the first team to punch their ticket to the NCAA Tournament by winning the Patriot League crown.

The top-seeded Greyhounds (10-5) dominated No. 2 Army 13-4 in the tournament championship game at the Ridley Athletic Complex April 30. Loyola, which is ranked 11th nationally after winning the Patriot League for the third time in four years, is a dangerous team capable of making another deep run in the NCAA Tournament

"I couldn't be more proud of this group," said Greyhounds head coach Charley Toomey, whose team advanced to the national semifinals in 2016. "They're playing their best lacrosse right now, and that's exciting."
