Tanner Scott Transitions To Starter, But Bullpen Is Still The End Goal

As far as Tanner Scott knows, the fastest pitch he ever threw was clocked at 102 mph.

But there is more to like about the left-hander than his flame-throwing tendencies.

The Orioles' 10th-ranked prospect, according to Baseball America, began the season Double-A Bowie and is consistently starting for the first time in his minor league career. Scott said his slider is coming along nicely.

"In spring training, my slider has been the best it's been since I've actually been developing it. I have a lot more confidence in it," Scott said on Glenn Clark Radio April 12. "So right now, it's just being able to go in and out and throw it where I want to instead of getting my walks too high."
